Boynton Health Service has significant outreach efforts in the area
of sexual health, tobacco, alcohol and other drugs, and stress
management. The following student groups are a part of our peer
education initiatives. |
Health Advocates
Health Advocate educate
college students on various health issues, including alcohol
use and abuse and sexual health. Health Advocates act as
general health counselors in all residence halls and in a
few larger apartment complexes and most fraternity and
sorority houses. |
MSA Express
The MSA Express is a free transportation service that promotes safety in the campus community by providing University of Minnesota students with safe rides home. |
Sexual Health
Awareness and Disease Education (SHADE)
SHADE peer educators are
students trained in sexual health issues with the intent of
promoting a campus environment that supports skills and
behaviors that foster healthy sexuality. |
Student Health
Advisory Committee (SHAC)
SHAC members make
recommendations to Boynton and the University administrators
on campus health policy, advise Boynton staff in the
development of services and programs, and develop Boynton's
student services fee request.

Student Network for
Abuse Prevention (SNAP)
SNAP members help
educate U of MN students on health issues regarding
alcohol/drug abuse, tobacco, and overall promotion of
healthy behaviors. |
Student Nutrition Advocacy Collaborative
(SNAC)
SNAC members work with a
Registered Dietitian to conduct nutrition outreach
activities, gain experience providing diet analysis, and
more. |
Students Off
Booze Enjoying Recovery (SOBER)
SOBER is an organization of students
recovering from drug and alcohol addiction and their friends
who are allies to the recovery movement. Their purpose is to
support students in recovery in any manner possible. |
