Pharmacy |

Boynton Health Service Pharmacy dispenses prescriptions and
over-the-counter medications at competitive prices–often lower than
retail, as well as select merchandise related to health and wellness.
The pharmacy is open to University students, staff, faculty, retirees,
alumni, and dependents. Boynton’s knowledgeable pharmacists are
available to answer questions by phone at (612) 624–7655 or in person. |

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday
Closed University holidays and Saturdays during Summer Session.

| What to Bring |
|
Please be ready to provide the following:
- Prescription (or prescription number for refills)
- Prescription insurance card
- U Card (or other current form of ID)
- Some form of payment for any merchandise or co-payment for
medication not covered by insurance carrier.

Ordering New Prescriptions or Refills |
First-time prescription fills and/or refills ordered in person can be
filled while you wait. Please place your request with the clerk at the
prescription “Drop Off” window. Please make sure your name, address, and
date of birth are accurate and legible on the prescription.
Refills may be ordered any time of day by calling (612) 624–7655. Please
allow at least 24 hours from the time the refill is requested to the
time of pick up. If your refill request requires more urgent attention,
please contact the pharmacy staff. |

Prescription Transfers and Special Ordering |
|
Prescriptions may be transferred from another pharmacy to Boynton. Call
Boynton’s pharmacy with your name, prescription number, and the phone
number of the pharmacy from which you are transferring the prescription.
Please allow at least 48 hours for us to fill your transferred
prescription. In some cases, medication can be special ordered. If you have a
particular need, or for more information, please speak with a
pharmacist. |

Over-the-Counter Medications |
|
Boynton’s pharmacy offers many over-the-counter medications and selected
medical supplies for sale. Prices are often lower than those of other
pharmacies. A pharmacist is always available to answer any questions you
have about your prescriptions. The pharmacy's counseling booths ensure
your privacy. |

Merchandise |
In addition to prescription and over-the-counter medication,
Boynton’s pharmacy offers health- and wellness-related merchandise.
Merchandise available in Boynton’s pharmacy includes: back massagers,
bike headlights, bike helmets, books, carbon monoxide detectors,
condoms, contact lens solution, dental floss, eye drops, feminine
napkins, hand sanitizer, insect repellent, Kleenex, lip balm, lotion,
lubricant, nail clippers, pedometers, pill boxes, Q-tips, saline
solution, sunscreen, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and yoga mats.

Payment |
Boynton’s pharmacy accepts most credit cards, cash, check as payment for
prescriptions and other purchases. The pharmacy will also bill many
insurance plans. Pharmaceuticals are not covered by the Student Service
Fee.
Students on the University-sponsored Student Health Benefit Plan, AHC
Student Health Benefit Plan, or Graduate Assistant Health Benefit Plan
may speak with a Boynton pharmacist to determine which prescriptions are
covered by their particular plan. If a prescription is written for a
medication on the health plan’s formulary, the patient will be charged
the co-payment designated by their plan.
Patients covered by other insurance plans should check with their
individual insurance plans for coverage details. |

Delivery to St. Paul |
|
The Boynton Health Service Satellite Clinic on the St. Paul campus
dispenses medications that are used most frequently by patients.
Medications are transported from the Minneapolis pharmacy daily and may
be picked up during St. Paul Clinic hours. Please call the pharmacy at
least 24 hours in advance of your desired pick up time. |
