All students born after
December 31, 1956,
are required by Minnesota state law to be
immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, measles,
mumps, and rubella. You received a student
immunization record with your admissions letter. If
you are not adequately immunized, you must get
immunized against the diseases listed above.
This State law does allow for
some exemptions. Individuals who show proof of
having had the disease or those who wish to
conscientiously object may fill out the appropriate
sections of the Immunization Form.
Complete the record and return it as soon as
possible. Please note that Boynton can provide the
immunizations, but they are
not
covered by the Student Services Fee.
All Minnesota High School students who graduated
in 1997 or later do not have to turn in an
immunization record.
For those who
are not exempt,
you must turn in your immunization record in
order to register for classes. However, you will
get a one-semester grace period. It is highly
recommended that you get your immunizations and
turn in the record before you register
for your first semester of classes.
A
hold will be placed on your record and you
will not be allowed to register for your second
semester of classes if you have not turned in
the record.

All international students
are required to undergo Tuberculosis (TB) screening,
by taking a Mantoux test at Boynton Health Service.
After you have received results from this test, the
ME Hold on your registration screen will be
cleared and you will able to register for classes.
If you have had a Mantoux test within the past 12 months and
bring proof in English of your testing, this test will not
be required. A positive reaction indicates that you have
been exposed to tuberculosis but it does not necessarily
mean that you have contracted the disease.
If your test is positive, you will be allowed to
register for classes, but you will be required to have a
chest x-ray and to return for the results. Be sure to
tell the nurse if you have been recently immunized for
tuberculosis, since this could cause a reaction to the
Mantoux test.
If you need to schedule a Mantoux test, call our
appointment line at 612-625-3222.
If you have questions that need further
clarifications, please call the
International Student and Scholar Services office at
