Process For Group Participation

If you are interested in our group program or want to meet with a therapist to determine how to proceed, go in person to the Mental Health Clinic, fourth floor of Boynton Health Service, to schedule an initial assessment appointment.

  • This initial appointment can be with any available therapist.

  • During this visit the therapist will meet with you to determine whether the group is appropriate for you. If so, you will schedule a brief appointment with one of the group therapists.

If you have any questions about this process, call (612) 625-8475 to talk with a therapist.

Appointment Policy
Please note that at the time of setting up your initial appointment, you will need to fill out some forms. There is no co-pay for the initial assessment. There is a $5.00 co-pay for each group session. In addition, if you cancel with less than 24-hours' notice or do not show up to a group session, you will be charged $15.00. See more information on scheduling appointments and documents to bring to your appointment.
Group Dates
There is a possibility that the group time could change if the students who are interested, have a conflict at this time. Group facilitators will accept students' schedules for purposes of determining whether a change will occur. We ask that you know your availability when you arrive at your first appointment.
Referrals

If we can not meet your needs or you know you need something more intensive than what Boynton offers, we will work with you to locate a reserve in the community that is better suited for you. Talk with the therapist you see upon your initial consultation regarding a referral.

In addition, we provide the services of a medical social worker, who can assist you. Please call 612-624-1114 to set up an appointment for this if desired.
