A class for students
with DWI and underage drinkers.
Boynton Health Service, at the
University of Minnesota, provides a class for
college students who have received a DWI or an
underage drinking ticket.
What will happen during the
class?
During the class, participants will
be tested on their knowledge of alcohol, how it
affects the body, laws related to driving while
intoxicated, and other related subjects. Throughout
the class participants will discuss a variety of
issues, including:

The class is designed so the
participants can share their opinions, experiences,
and knowledge with each other in a non-threatening
environment.
Who will be in the class?
The class size ranges from 4 to 10
participants and consists of University of Minnesota
students or students from other colleges or
universities.
$95.00 for University of
Minnesota students who do not pay the Student
Services Fee and students currently enrolled at
other area colleges and universities (proof of
enrollment will be required);
Students who take the class during Summer
Session must pay the Student Services Fee during
Summer Session in order to be charged the $65.00
rate (students who enroll in the June class will
be assessed the fee paying student rate based on
their status during spring quarter)
Payment must be made prior to
attending the class. The facilitator will ask to see
your payment receipt.
Who will find out about my
attendance?
At the beginning of the class you
will be asked to complete a form on which you will
provide the name(s) and address(es) of the
individual(s) (usually a probation officer) who need
to be notified about your participation in the
class. Only the people whom you identify will be
notified. Otherwise, your participation in the class
is considered completely confidential.
When is the class offered?
The class is usually offered twice a semester, the
third Wednesday of the month (September, November,
February, April and July), from 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM,
in Boynton Health Service.

class offered?
The class is offered at Boynton
Health Service. Boynton
is located on the Minneapolis campus of the
University of Minnesota. Boynton’s address is 410
Church Street SE.
