These are the University-sponsored Student Health Benefit Plans (SHBP):
  • Extended Coverage

Extended Coverage

Students who are eligible for extended coverage benefits must have paid the student services fee and had health insurance the previous semester.

Eligibility

  • students who do not attend school during the summer

  • students who drop out of school for a semester or a portion of the semester

  • graduate students working on a thesis

Students who have private or University-sponsored Student Health Benefit Plan can buy extended coverage and receive the same benefits at Boynton Health Service if they paid the student services fee at registration. All charges are billed directly to the student’s insurance company. Most charges not covered by the insurance company will be covered by the extended coverage benefits plan.

Note: Students registered for classes under reduced-tuition plans and adult special are not eligible to purchase extended coverage.
