1. Who is eligible for the University-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan?

The guideline for who is eligible to be enrolled in the Student Health Benefit Plan is that students be registered for 6 or more credits (3 credits in summer) in a degree program, and that credits for which they are registered contribute towards the total count under the enrollment guidelines for being assessed mandatory Student Services Fee.

If a student can not show proof of health insurance, the student will be charged for the Student Health Benefit Plan. Typically these are credits for day school classes that take place on campus.

Please contact the Student Health Benefits Office at 1800-232-9017 or e-mail studins@bhs.umn.edu to determine exact eligibility status.
