A random sample of students were selected to participate in the survey. E-mails and postcards with unique usernames and passwords were sent to selected students. Upon entering the survey, students were asked to change their password. Survey had to be completed by noon, March 29, 2013.
Just for completing the survey, students were entered into prize drawings. Three lucky students won Amazon gift cards—$1,000 (one student), $500 (one student), and $250 (one student). In addition, one student from each participating school won $100 gift cards to Amazon. Grand prize winners were notified by April 3, 2013.
PLUS, every week, students who completed the survey had a chance to win an iPad Mini.
Winners were notified by e-mail and announced on Facebook.
