Primary Care visits at Boynton Health Service are similar to primary care visits you may have had at your home town clinic, with one difference—we specialize in college health. Boynton’s Primary Care Clinic is a full-service medical clinic, able to treat all acute and chronic illnesses.
Patients who establish a relationship with one of Boynton’s Primary Care Clinic providers will discover that treatment is more efficient, accessibility is improved, and follow-up is easier.
The Primary Care Clinic should be your first stop for general health issues and questions. It offers all the general services of Boynton’s specialty clinics and offers internal and external referrals if specialized treatment is required. For instance, Primary Care is a great starting place for patients concerned about mental health issues such as insomnia, depression, or anxiety; if more in-depth services are needed, patients can receive referrals to the Mental Health Clinic. Your Primary Care Provider can also coordinate your care and communicate directly with others service areas within the clinic.
Call 612-625-3222 to make an appointment for any health concern or for your first annual checkup to establish care with one of our Primary Care Providers.
Physical exams are provided for men and women of all ages. Physical exams for women include the annual breast and pelvic exams and Pap smear tests.
Your Primary Care Provider can provide many of the same services as the Women's Clinic including annual breast and pelvic exams and Pap smear tests.
Contraceptive care, pregnancy testing, and STI/HIV Testing are all available through your Primary Care Provider.
Any of our clinicians can see patients for evaluation and treatment of acne, rashes, skin lesions, skin infections, ingrown toenails, etc. Primary Care also has specific providers who can prescribe Accutane, perform dermoscopy and biopsies on abnormal looking moles, and remove ingrown toenails.
You can receive routine vaccinations during your Primary Care visit. They also can assist you with travel paperwork including Peace Corps, study abroad, and camp forms.
Primary Care Providers can provide treatment for most basic mental health issues including insomnia, depression, and anxiety. For more extensive Mental Health services, your Primary Care Provider will make a referral to one of our Mental Health specialists.
We have Primary Care Providers who specialize in Sports Medicine. They treat both elite athletes and those who have experienced injuries in recreational sports or fitness activities.
Toenail removal, abscess incision and drainage, mole removals, and skin biopsies can all be performed by a Primary Care Provider.
In conjunction with Mental Health Specialists, there are Primary Care Providers at Boynton Health Service who evaluate and treat medical aspects of Eating Disorders.
